A Clarion Call to Disrupt Bias and Systemic Inequity in AI

18jun2:00 pm3:00 pmA Clarion Call to Disrupt Bias and Systemic Inequity in AI2:00 pm - 3:00 pm(GMT+02:00) Inkwell BeachSession DescriptionBy now, we’re all deeply familiar with the exciting possibilities of AI. From accelerating innovation and creativity at scale, to driving greater efficiencies that maximize productivity. We’re also beginning to uncover its capacity to replicate and exponentially exacerbate systemic inequities as well as harmful bias attitudes and mindsets. In fact, this useful innovation may undo the hard-won progress purpose-driven leaders have made to mitigate or disrupt systems and behaviors that hinder equity and inclusion. Our collective efforts in this regard remain crucial to business growth as audiences, and the workforce, become increasingly more diverse. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us as socially responsible and ethical brand stewards, to prevent the overwhelming bias we’ve fought against IRL from being duplicated through the AI systems that will influence human belief systems and decisioning. We must also urgently examine the potential AI has to widen the gap in employment opportunities for the next generation of diverse talent. Particularly those from low socio-economic or traditionally marginalized communities who will not have access to AI education, instruction or resources as compared to their more affluent peers. Thus, our talent pipeline will not include the breadth of multicultural representation, perspectives, and voices we need in the workplace to effectively serve the growing multicultural marketplace. While the positive aspects of AI systems are manifold we must also work to address the issues of bias therein more fully, and come together as a creative community to shift the trajectory of our collective future, and society at-large. We invite you to join this executive leadership panel which sets out to do just that.
